Turn Off Your iPad Pro with Face ID

If you have one of the newer iPad Pros manufactured in 2018 or later with Face ID, Apple has made the process of turning off the tablet slightly cumbersome. Holding down the Power Button now triggers Siri, so an extra step is necessary for the shut-down process.

First, press and hold the Top/Power Button and either Volume Button at the same time. Continue holding both buttons until the “Slide to Power Off” slider appears at the top of the display.

Press and hold the Top/Power Button for several seconds until the Apple logo appears on-screen. After giving the tablet up to a minute to boot, you should be brought back to the iPad Pro’s lock screen.
